Assignment Title: Legal Framework Reform in the Field of Solid Waste Management
Reference No.: C-18

The Government of Azerbaijan has received additional financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) include assisting the Government of Azerbaijan in evaluating, proposing and drafting modifications to the existing legal and regulatory framework related to SWM in Azerbaijan and facilitate the implementation of the National Solid Waste Management Strategy. The updated legal framework, along with the National Strategy and the updated strategy for Greater Baku region, will establish the basis for future investments, objectives, activities and performance targets for service delivery and new facility development. Regional investment plans and programs (not subject to this consultancy) will be developed to translate national objectives into regional initiatives and targets. The Project Management Team (PMT) at the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
